Element Education SMS Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

These SMS Text Messaging Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in the Element Education text messaging program. By opting in to receive text messages from Element Education, you agree to these Terms.
1. SMS Program
Element Education provides SMS text messaging to support communication between authorized school staff and parents or guardians regarding school-related matters.
Messages may include:
· Classroom and educational updates
· Information about student learning and school activities
· School and classroom reminders
· Meeting and conference information
· Attendance-related communication
· Important school announcements
· Other authorized school-related communications
The SMS service is intended for school-related, person-to-person communication and is not intended for advertising, marketing, or promotional purposes.
2. Consent to Receive Text Messages
By completing the SMS opt-in process and providing your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive school-related text messages from Element Education and authorized school staff.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving educational services. You may choose not to participate in the SMS program.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies.
The number of messages you receive will depend on your communication with your child’s teacher, school, or other authorized school staff and the need for school-related communication.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Element Education does not charge a separate fee for receiving these messages; however, your wireless carrier may charge you according to the terms of your mobile service plan.
5. How to Opt Out
You may stop receiving text messages from a specific Teams phone number by replying:
STOP.
After you send STOP, you will no longer receive messages from that number unless you provide consent to resume communication.

7. Privacy
Information collected through the SMS program is handled in accordance with the Element Education SMS Privacy Policy.

Your mobile phone number and SMS opt-in information will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

8. Appropriate Use
The SMS service is intended for appropriate school-related communication. Messages should be relevant to the student’s education, classroom, school activities, or other authorized school matters.
Element Education does not use the SMS service for commercial advertising, promotional marketing, or unrelated communications.
9. Student and Family Privacy
Parents, guardians, teachers, and staff are expected to protect student and family privacy when using SMS communication.
Sensitive or confidential student information should not be communicated through SMS when district policy requires a different approved communication method.
Teachers and staff must follow all applicable district policies and procedures regarding student records, confidentiality, electronic communication, and information security.
10. Records and Retention
Communications sent or received through district-provided systems may be retained, monitored, or disclosed in accordance with applicable law, district policies, records-retention requirements, and legitimate administrative or legal purposes.
11. Changes to the SMS Program
Element Education may modify, suspend, or discontinue the SMS program when necessary.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be available on the Element Education website.
